My day job just threw me a curve. I am considering retirement. In one instant I am digging in my heels and don't want to. In the other I am wondering if it is the right thing to do for my writing?
I am making headway on Keepers... my short hand for my current work in progress. I am looking forward to MRW retreat next weekend SEPT 2026.... So much has happened in the last year. I am fighting with depression and melancholia. I miss my mom terribly.
I am gaining subscribers VIA substack and followers and am embracing my poetic nature. HEre is my latest attempt.
Words Are Immortal
They seep into our physic
They wound, or welcome,
They hurt, or heal.
They silence, or scar.
They matter, or are they moot?
They stay and still.
Memories are made of them.
Beliefs are built on them.
At the most trying times of our lives
We look back on them.
Did we learn from words spoken, shared and scripted?
Will we grow, or go forth ignorantly ignoring them?
Words are immortal
Like all mater…
They do.
We do.
Let us,
Put pen to page
Become a sage
So that the world becomes better
For your being here.
